My Blog for Devon Air Ambulance

My Blog for Devon Air Ambulance

Ever since the accident I’ve been trying to find ways to support the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and will find some very meaningful ways in 2013. But in a small way I hope my blog published this week will bring interest and extra supporters to their cause.

Devon Air Ambulance – my heroes in a helicopter

The first thing to do in this blog is to pay tribute to the service we have here in Devon thanks to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

They need all the help they can get to keep their two helicopters in service and rescuing people just like me (and it could be you!). Fundraising is essential and so please please find ways to support them – sponsorship, buy their merchandise, or just simply donate now.

I got a ride from Musbury Castle right out in the fields straight to RD&E hospital in 8 minutes. My ride courtesy of this helicopter and its crew. They were just brilliant. Without the service and speed with which I made it to A&E my condition would have certainly gone down-hill fast and the complications of infection, damage to tissue/muscle/ligaments would have resulted in more serious and potentially life-changing injury. I will be forever grateful to the paramedics, the service and the hospital for my medical care.

THANK YOU!
